Lorani
Lorani is a commissioned editorial site for a Moroccan hijab house, written in plain HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript with zero dependencies and no build pipeline. It carries a Lenis smooth-scroll surface, a custom drag-snap slider, and a pinned horizontal atelier scrub built on GSAP, and it ships fully trilingual in English, French and Arabic, with proper right-to-left typography rather than a mirrored afterthought. A dependency-free Node test suite runs the whole thing in CI.
What Wasn't Working
A premium modest-fashion brand needed a site that felt like an atelier rather than a template, in three languages one of which reads right to left, and it had to stay fast on Moroccan mobile connections.
How I Fixed It
Write it by hand with no framework: motion where it earns attention, real Arabic typography and layout mirroring, and a zero-dependency test suite so a site with no build step still cannot regress silently.
